Coin Solid Top Design

As one of the most popular tiles, the Coin Top comes in several different colors to suit your flooring needs. With the vast selection available, you can accomplish your desired design as options are limitless. From solid colored floors, double checkerboard floors, to plenty more eclectic design schemes, the Coin Top can help your floor design come to life. Easy to Assemble

Installation is as simple as piecing together a puzzle. Each tile snaps together with a four loop-to-peg interlocking system.  Two sides of the tile have loops, and the remaining two sides have pegs. Since the interlocking system is so convenient, tools are hardly necessary because the tiles will attach themselves with a single downward push. Please download the Garage Floor Tiles Installation Guide for a more detailed explanation.

Because the tiles have a rigid exterior, you may wish to use a small plastic mallet and knee pads to further ease your installation process.

Please note that epoxy painted concrete has less surface friction, so the garage floor tile will have very little grasp on an epoxy covered subfloor and has the potential to shift. An easy fix to this issue is to use the Rubber Underlayment for added friction.

Rigid Structure

Each tile measures 12” x 12” x ½”, or 1 sq. ft. making installation a breeze, much like a large puzzle. Even if the subfloor has cracks or damage, the rigid structure of the Coin Top tile forms an even floorboard to mask the imperfections that may lie underneath. The Coin Top tile is intentionally designed to be inflexible to create a firm floorboard for your garage.

Engineered with high-impact polymer plastic, this tile is not made to bend. Trying to do so does run the risk of potentially damaging the tile.

Grid Structure

The grid structure underneath each ½-inch tall tile serves a special purpose, which is to allow air and water flow for your garage floor. The grid structure separating the base floor and top of the tile creates space and allows air and water flow. As a result of this space in addition to the tile’s hard exterior, hollow sounds may be produced. However, rubber underlayment may be used to reduce or mute these sounds.

TIP: Although the Coin Top tile can serve its purpose in a wet environment, it is designed to be used in drier areas with less water. The Perforated Garage Tile is recommended for areas with more moisture.

Lightweight and Durable

Each tile weighs near to nothing, making the assembly of your floorboard an almost effortless experience. Although the tile is light, it can withstand a substantial amount of weight. From small furniture to large vehicles such as SUVs, trucks, planes, etc., this tile is made to be a reliable, strong base when used properly.

TIP: Plywood or another protective flat rigid surface should be used when using jacks or other sharp, heavy objects. Pinpoint weights may cause discoloration and potentially damage the tile. Please consider tiling around a permanent vehicle lift. Although the polymer plastic is UV protected, the Coin Top was not manufactured with the intention to serve in an outdoor area. The Perforated Garage Tile is recommended for outdoor usage.

Slip Resistant

Due to the texture of the tile’s surface, the probability of slipping and sliding lessens significantly. The Coin Top surface pattern provides an additional level of safety as you walk on them.

CAUTION: Using a mild degreaser may make the tiles slippery. Make sure to take proper precautions when cleaning.

Stain Resistant

From dripping grease from your car to dragging mud in from the bottom of your shoes, the tile makes a typically difficult cleanup convenient and trouble-free. The high-impact polymer is extremely difficult to stain, so rather than the stains absorbing into the tile, dirt and debris remain on the surface until it is cleared off. The spaces between each tile make it possible for liquid substances to seep onto your base floor. If this happens, you will only need to detach your tile to clear the subfloor of any liquid stains.

TIP: For harder-to-remove stains, you may use a degreaser. It is highly suggested for you to place a protective mat underneath an area containing acidic liquids, sand, or salt as these spills are likely to damage the tile. The Coin Top tile resists most chemicals found in a garage; however, battery acids and prolonged exposure of other chemicals may damage the tiles.

Mold Resistant

One of the many benefits of the Coin Top tile is that mold does not grow on the high-impact polymer plastic. Additionally, the airflow underneath each tile allows moisture to escape, thus making mold growth nearly impossible. It is important to note that although this product is made to withstand water, it is best used in drier environments where water is not a frequent factor.

If used in an area with excessive water flow, you will need to disassemble the areas affected to clear your subfloor of the excess water. The Perforated Garage Tile is recommended for areas prone to moisture.

The tiles will not prevent mold from developing on an object on top of the tile or the subfloor. Clean flooring regularly for the best appearance. Routine cleaning will lengthen the life of the flooring.

Portable

Just as the tiles are easily installed, they are also easily removed. They will remain locked until intentionally unlocked. However, when detaching the tiles, be sure to remove them all from the same side. The tiles can be taken with you wherever you go. They are small, compact, and lightweight for your convenience. Whether you are relocating or traveling for a trade show, you can always take your Coin Top tile floor with you.

Other Uses

Although the Coin Top tile was intentionally designed for garage use, it is certainly not limited to just this one room. Over several years, it has been noticed that many customers use the Coin Top for trade shows, basements, commercial displays, and residential workshops.

NOTE: These tiles will not interlock with any tiles purchased before 2010. If you bought tiles before 2010, they would not be compatible with tiles produced after 2010 due to differences in height and the locking system.
